It was back to the usual bun run this morning and with the weather the same as yesterday we were into a head wind most of the way to the cafe stop. After cake and coffee it was back to Dunfermline with a tailwind assist which helped to increase my avg speed to 16 mph

Ride 14/09/2019
When I look at the map of this route it looks like a Mushroom to me so I’m going to call this the Mushroom route So it’s a overcast slightly windy day which meant I was in the winter gear for cycling, no more short it’s on with the cycling trousers and wind jacket. Today we did a slightly different ride as some people were looking to do a longer ride which was fine with me. We did the normal bun run up to the cafe stop but after that we headed into Stirling and back around via the Kincardine bridge, almost following my old stomping ground when I lived in Falkirk. It was then back via the coastal route to Dunfirmline and home, clocking up 66 miles at a steady pace of 15 mph.

Well it was another nice day to be riding, some sun around with little wind but still a bit on the chilly side thus resulting with me wearing a base layer and jacket. Again a good ride today although only 8 of us were out today but we still managed a good time and speed Just shy of 17 mph so I’m happy with that although I was leading a big chunk of the ride so I was keeping the pace high
Ride 07/09/2019
Yes I did forget to post this yesterday but I’m only a day late So it was a pleasant day if a bit on the cold side to start with. We had sun and little wind but it was 10 °C to begin with but thankfully after the cafe stop it started to warm up a bit. The usual bun run route but in 2 groups as there were quite a lot of us today but given the sun was out that was predictable.
Ride 01/09/2019
As predicted there were a lot more riders today 10 of us in total and even though it was sunny we were facing a heading on the outbound leg. We even didn’t get a chance to go up Knockhill due to an accident which meant we had to detour round to Saline and miss out Dollar all together. After the cafe stop we had a tail wind assist so the ride back home was a lot faster which is why my avg was 17 mph and it’s always very satisfying to do 50 miles in under 3 hours

Well in stark contrast to last weekends weather today was wet and windy so it was on with the mud guards and wet gear. The usual route today but given the weather I wasn’t surprised to see only 4 of us turn up today. Tomorrow is the better weather day so I suspect there will be more riders tomorrow than today.
Ride 25/08/2019
Well it was a good day to do 100 miles as the weather was perfect, hot sunny and little wind, well at least until we headed back to Dunfermline we were in a head wind then but it wasn’t a strong one. About 10 of us were on the slower group but I still managed to clock up 16.6 mph I haven’t gone that fast for a 100 miles in 2 years. Thankfully I still had my Nice legs which is why I wasn’t killed doing this ride, normally I would ride it at a slower 15 mph rate. I was still getting quite tired towards the end of the ride and the last 15 miles I took the lead of the group just so I could slow it down a bit so I would make it home in one piece, we were avg over 17 mph by the time we got to Aberfoyle for a cafe stop so I needed time to recharge a bit to get home. All in all a good days ride and an excellent time for 106 miles
Ride 24/08/2019
Well it’s a great weather day no wind warn and sunny surprising for a bank holiday weekend Out on the usual ride with the club today, given the weather I wasn’t surprised to see a large group today but this thinned out towards the end with some people opting to not go up knockhill. Tomorrow is the clubs 100 miles ride and with the good weather forecast it should be a good ride
Ride 18/08/2019
Well I’m back in the Scottish weather, wet and windy, it was back on with the mud guards and wet gear as today I would be riding in mostly rain and wind. Given the weather conditions I wasn’t surprised to find only 2 of us cycling today, I wish more people would at least take a chance on the weather because as it turned out after the cafe stop it started to dry up and stop raining with a few sunny spells by the time I got back to Dunfermline. There’s quite a stark contrast between the Sat ride and Sun ride in terms of the number of people willing to ride these days, any how 48 miles clocked up and I didn’t get totally drenched by the time I got home
Ride 17/08/2019
Well its back to normality this week and back on the club Saturday bun run. The usual ride today but there were a lot more members today than normal which meant we were quite a large group. Weather wise it was dry but quite windy and not too cold but I still wore my wind stopper and glad that I did as the last 3 miles were in the pouring rain Of course I had no mud guards on which meant I was very wet by the time I got home with a wet bun but at least it was towards the end of the ride so I had a hot shower to look forward to
Ride 10/08/2019
So I’m back home and it out with the club for my first ride back home. It’s a bit of a mixed bag day weather wise rain, sun and wind but over all it was mostly dry. The group decided to go a different way home this week by skipping our knockhill but I wanted to go up it so I went it alone so the usual 46 miles clocked up at an avg speed of 15 mph.
London to Nice day 12
Well it’s the last day of my London to Nice bike ride and as usual it’s flown by Today was a tough day with a lot of climbing to do in the morning and thank God it was in the morning as trying to do that in the afternoon would be very hard. We had a 9% climb in the morning which only to 1100 odd meters but seemed to last for ever. Today was also going to be another 35 degree day so thankfully all of the climbing was done by lunch time. After lunch it would mostly be down hill to Nice and quite a spectacular decent it was lasting about 20 miles So it’s time to celebrate and then it’s back to normality Friday but I’m already planning next years ride
