Well it’s a wet warm day for the bun run, did my usual split from the group after Knockhill and headed home via Cowdenbeath. One ride left before I head off to London next week

Well thankfully the weather today is a lot better than yesterday low winds, no rain and a little overcast with some sunny spells. There was only 6 of us on the bun run today but that was fine as I was looking for a good workout today and I definitely got one. I did the same as last week course wise splitting from the group at Cairneyhill and heading along the coast to Inverkething before heading uphill to Crossgates. I did quite well today clocking up 55 miles at an avg speed of 17.2 mph better than yesterday so I’m very happy with that but my legs did feel like Jello when I got home

On a warm wet day I did the usual bun run with the club but of course 5 miles from the start it started to rain, now I had my mud guards on thankfully but no wet gear so I got wet but so did the rest of the group as it wasn’t forecast to rain just be cloudy and warm. Anyway the rain didn’t last too long about 25 mins so I had a chance to dry out before we hit the cafe stop. On the return leg I split from the group after riding over knockhill and headed to Kelty and Cowdenbeath as I was looking to do 50 miles today at a reasonably fast pace. In the end I knocked up the 50 miles at an avg speed of 16.6 mph so I’m happy with that

On a bit of a dull day I decided to miss the bun run and go with some of the other members on a more hillier ride over to dunning and back. Given that is was with some of the slower member of the club this was a fairly easy affair hence the avg speed of 13 mph. But given it had 4 hill climbs in it I still got a work out and clocked up just over 55 miles, normal service will resume next week

It’s a nice day in Scotland for a bike ride so I was out with the 09:30 group following the usual route to the cafe stop at Muircot. After coffee we decided to deviate from the normal return leg and head down to Dollar and the head the full route over knockhill. I then left the group and headed a different way home as I wanted to do 50 miles today so I went home via Kelty and Cowdenbeath to increase my mileage to my target.

So today was supposed to be the 100 miles club ride to Dunkeld but unfortunately we were riding with the wrecking crew which meant that I got dropped after about 20 miles. I didn’t know where the group was going to stop for a cafe break and I didn’t know the route since I’ve never been that way and I didn’t have the route on my garmin. So once I hit Crieff I decided to go my own way and given the terrible weather (strong winds and rain) I didn’t fancy my changes of doing the ride on my own. So I headed back down to Auchterarder and back over the Ochils heading for home. I still managed to clock up 75 miles so I’ll live with that and maybe on a better day I’ll do the ride on my own.

Given that I’m doing the 100 miles club run tomorrow I was looking to do todays ride at a easy pace which is basically what I did. Although towards the end of the ride we decided to go up Saline rather then knockhill so I did hammer it a bit up that but other than that it was an easy days ride.

Despite yesterdays longer ride and me still feeling that a little this morning I was expecting a slightly easier today but that wasn’t to be the case. There were only 8 of us today and it seemed to be only the fast ones left, even though this is the slower group. I managed to clock up an avg speed of 16.8 mph which is close to wrecking crew speed, much to my surprise given yesterdays ride. So I was glad that today’s ride was only 50 odd miles as going any further than that would be very difficult. But it was a nice day with warm temperatures and sunny skies so I was grateful for that.

It’s actually a nice day for a cycle, little wind, some sunny spell, a little overcast and a pleasant temperature. So rather than doing the usual bun run I decided to go with some of the other members who were doing a longer loop around the Forth. This worked out fine with me as I was planning to go to my Uncles which was on the way. Although I wasn’t riding particularly hard my legs were sore towards the end of the ride like I had been cycling hard. My avg speed was only 15.7 mph, and sure there were some hills in the mix but nothing I haven’t done before since I was familiar with the route we were taking. Anyway 73 miles clocked up and we’ll see how I fair on tomorrows ride
Grand Fondo Scotland 16/06/2019
Grand Fondo Scotland 16/06/2019
Today was the Gand Fondo Scotland ride in Stirling, the first time this ride has been run here. We would be riding in and around the Trossachs today and up over duke’s pass the hard way rather than the north side which is the easier approach. Todays ride would be about 75 miles starting at 07:00 which meant getting up a silly o’clock just to get to the start I would be riding the route with one of the other club members so I had company around todays ride rather than doing on myself. I didn’t think the ride was that hard, it could have been much harder but over all a good ride only marred by the absolute down pour towards the last couple of miles. I wasn’t expecting rain, there was no forecast for it so I had no wet gear what so ever which meant I got wet but I was close to the finish by this time so I wasn’t too bothered with it. I averaged just under 16 mph but I wasn’t going hard as I was riding with another rider so I got the finish in one piece feeling fine, all in all a good days ride
Ride 15/06/2019
A reasonable day today, dry but overcast with a little wind. Out with the 09:00 crew today and I wasn’t looking to go too hard today since I’m doing the grand fondo scotland tomorrow but I still managed to do a 15.7 mph avg speed.

It’s a pleasant enough day today, sunny spells with some windy patches here and there. Out with the 10:00 crew doing the usual route over Knockhill and along to dollar and up to muircot for a cafe stop. Then back home via Kincardine and the coastal road to Dunfermline. I stopped at home for lunch but wanted to do a longer ride so after lunch a did a loop to Kirkcaldy and back bumping the mileage up to 75 miles. We weren’t going particularly fast today so my avg speed was only 15 mph today.
