Well it was forecast to rain today and it did but not before I got home Out with the 09:00 crew this morning doing the usual Sat bun run, pace was good for me 16 mph avg to the cafe stop but of course going via knock hill lowers my avg but I’m still happy with 15.8 mph. Tomorrows a better weather day so I’m looking to do a longer ride then.

On a wet and windy day I decided to go with the 09:00 wrecking crew as I didn’t think anyone would turn up for the 10:00 ride. Given the rain I was dressed accordingly but despite the weather forecast it didn’t rain for most of the ride only a few spots here and there much to my surprise. Even on the 09:00 there were only 3 of us and the decision was made not to stop for a cafe stop, just as well I was packing a lot of energy gels. I was able to keep up with the other riders the whole way round but it did cost me 6 energy gels and ironically enough todays ride wasn’t any faster than yesterday. Anyway by the time I got back home I was still a sweaty mess as today was quite warm but I’m not wrecked so I’ll live with that

Well it’s a reasonable weather day, overcast but mild with no rain, so I was out with the 09:00 crew doing the usual route and speed or so I thought. At the cafe stop the decision was made to extend the ride around Loch Leven which was fine with me I wasn’t pushing it today so going a few extra miles wasn’t an issue. So after lunch we pressed on to Dollar and up and over Milnathort and around Loch Leven. Thing were going fine until about 5 miles from home I ran over something hard and punctured my back tyre but given how close I was to home I didn’t really care, fixed the puncture in 5 mins and 15 minutes later I was home again

On a wet and windy day I wan’t expecting many to turn up for this mornings ride and in the end only 1 other person turned up So it’s a ride of two this morning and given I was still feeling sore from yesterdays ride I wasn’t going to be riding hard today. But I can’t complain about the stats I did keep up an average speed of 15 mph much to my surprise. Lets hope for some better weather at the weekends instead of getting it all through the week and shite weekends

Today I was doing our club sportive the Tour of the Kingdom, I was doing the 70 mile loop, had the weather been better I would have done the 100 miles loop. It started off dry but it was scheduled to rain today which it did start doing towards the end of my ride but not enough to worry me. I was riding this alone today as I wanted to go at my own pace but I started out the block far too fast, I was averaging nearly 17 mph in the first 30 odd miles so I decided to slow down and ride with some of the other club members, at least until we got to Cleish At Cleish I put my foot down and went it alone again, by this time my avg speed had dropped to 15 mph and I didn’t want to go any lower. So for the last 20 miles I kept up a steady pace until the finish. I only stopped once to eat so by the time I got back home i was starving but not absolutely shattered so it was a good days ride for me

On a damp day I went out with the 09:00 wrecking crew which meant this was going to be a fast ride. We were heading to Bannockburn in a round about way which was where we stopped for a cafe break. I kept up with the group until Kincardine but at that point I decided to go it alone as I was struggling to keep up with the group and I didn’t want push myself to the point of not being able to get home. My avg speed to Bannockburn was over 17 mph but by the time I got home that had dropped to 16.8 mph but I’m not complaining I’m quite happy with that

On a wet rainy day I went with the 09:00 group, I did consider the 08:30 wrecking crew as there would more people in that group but as it turned out 6 of us turned up for the 09:00 ride. We decided to skip out knockhill today and just go via Saline which was fine with me, either route requires riding up a hill to get back to Dunfermline. Avg speed was 15 mph and given the weather I wasn’t expecting much more especially given the head wind we were plowing through on the way home.

It’s another pleasant evening so a quick ride around the area

It’s a pleasant enough evening so I decided to go for a quick ride to Kirkcaldy and back.

It’s another sunny day a bit warmer than yesterday and less windy so we did the same route as last week. I was again looking to cover 60 miles today but so were some of the other club members so I stuck with them all the way round today. Another good distance and avg speed a little less than yesterday but satisfactory for me.

Well it’s a reasonably sunny day although still a bit on the chilly side but I was out in my cycling shorts for the first time today but I still had 3 layers on and glad that I did as cycling into the head wind was cold!. Out with the 09:30 crew doing the usual route but I decided I would bump up the millage to 60 miles today so I stopped at home for lunch and then headed out again. I wasn’t really paying attention to where I was going and as such I ended up doing 67 miles which was fine with me. After some sore legs I realised when I got home I was an avg 16 mph which wasn’t really my target (I was expecting 15 mph) but I’ll take that

So this is the first time I’ve done the 10 am ride with the club, usually I would ride with the 9 am wrecking crew, so I wasn’t sure what the route would be. As it turned out the route was perfectly fine with me, I was looking to do another 50 miles today and thats what I got. The weather was dull and cold again but this time with a head wind so I wasn’t leading this time but that was fine with me I got close to the 15 mph again although it was a slightly slower day but I was a bit sore still from yesterday and wasn’t looking to go crazy today so I’m happy with today’s stats.
