Well it’s a crazy weather day with the Met issuing weather warnings to boot. It started out sunny but with gale force winds which ridding into made life very difficult. I didn’t get much faster than 8-10 mph in the head winds especially going up hills but with the wind behind me i was costing along at 25 mph until the snow storm hit. 15:00 in the afternoon and I was riding with my lights on thanks to the snow but luckily it didn’t rain/snow hard so I at least remained reasonably dry if not with my extremities getting a bit cold. Not a long ride or of great distance but given the weather I wasn’t going to get very far.

Ride 03/01/2015 Seven Lochs Wetlands
Well first ride of the new year and its a bright sunny day which means it’s friggin cold as usual, but there’s no rain and very little wind which makes it good cycling conditions. Decided to ride somewhere new so headed to Seven Lochs Wetlands which is near Stepps west of Glasgow. Unfortunately I ended up going through Glasgow fort and got a little lost damn you garmin and your erratic route choices. Anyway once back on course I headed to Stepps and the road through Cumbernauld and back home, stopping off at my Uncles to sort a few pc issues.

Well another reasonable day to ride albeit a bit on the cold side, although it was sunny that just made it colder, the temps not getting above zero for the entire ride. Basically a straight run to South Queensferry and back via Linlithgow and Bo’ness, nothing too fancy nothing too long

Nice dry sunny day and not too cold either. Headed up the hills and cross country from Denny to Stirling and then the flat curve following the Forth river back to the Kelpies and home.

A short ride today, first to Kilsyth and up Tak Ma Doon road. Along to my Uncle’s to fix his computer and back home. A little snowy on the hills, -1°C temps but the roads had been gritted so no big deal, I’ve cycled in far worse

Reasonable day to be riding, bright but not sunny, too much cloud around. Hill start up to Shieldhill then an undulating ride to Slamannan, Adrie and following the train track cycle path to Bathgate. From their to Linlithgow and back home. Reasonable fast for my mountain bike clocking up 50 miles in 3.5 hours but again there was very little wind around

It started out ok, a little sunshine here and there, but the last hour of the ride it got dark and pissed down. Thankfully I had my lights but no wet gear, so I got wet…
I have no idea whats going on with the elevation graph cos it’s well fucked, should look nothing like that I pre-planned the ride so I knew what it would look like, but it’s nothing like that and I’ve no idea how that happened

Well it was sunny for 2 hours and then it started to piss down for the last 2 hours, so cut my losses and headed for home before I got to soaked.

OMG cycling in gale force winds is bloody hard and cross winds are a bit scary. Hadn’t cycled in 10 days so was determined to get some done no matter the weather, besides it’s even windier tomorrow.
