Well it was another stupidly cold day where it barely got above freezing and I was doing the organised club ride today. I was a bit disappointing with the turn up, only 3 of us actually turned up This didn’t last long as one of the guys bailed at Kincardine which left me with the fast guy. Now I was expecting this to happen so I did come prepared but what I wasn’t expecting was to have an avg speed of 18.2 mph after 40 miles when we hit the cafe stop. I was pretty tired by this point and I haven’t seen my heart rate hit 200 bpm for quite some time which shows how hard that was for me. After the cafe stop I parted ways as there was no way I could continue that and get home. I took the shorter route home and saved 5 miles which doesn’t sound like a lot but it is when your knackered. So I clocked up 67 miles in 4 hours with an avg speed of 16.8 mph which was fast enough for me!

Well it was a cold day today only a few degrees above freezing, with some sunny spells around which didn’t warm you up at all. It was the usual bun run with only 7 of us today and given how cold it was I’m not surprised it was a bit slower, the last thing you want to do it get all hot a sweaty only to freeze your butt of when you stop. Anyway tomorrows ride is a club organised one ranging 62 miles so we’ll see how that goes.

Well it was definitely a wet day today, with rain showers off an on even with my wet gear on I still got a bit wet although thankfully not totally drenched. We changed the route a little bit today just to cut 5 miles off to get around a bit quicker due to the weather conditions but with a head wind on the homeward leg I still only managed to get an avg of 15 mph.

The weather forecast for today was supposed to be bad, constant rain but for whatever reason it was actually a nice day, mild, with some sunshine and no rain. I was expecting worse and went out with rain gear but ending getting to hot with it so had to take it off. Anyhow its the usual bun run but there was only 7 of us, I suspect the weather forecast had a lot to do with that. For those who turned up it was a great ride, I pretty much lead the whole way round Nothing too fast today a good pace to get me close to my 16 mph target, tomorrows forecast looks just a bleak but we shall see.

Well today was a far better ride as I sustained no punctures We were doing the club 100km ride to Falkirk and again the weather was about the same as yesterday, sunny but a bit cold the only difference was we had head wind all the way to Falkirk which made life going an bit hard. We stopped at the milk bar for food and then returned home thankfully with a tail wind this time but overall it was a slower ride than yesterday with me only avg 14 mph thanks to that headwind.

Well it was quite the fuck up today… It started with being a sunny day but a damn cold one and after about 15 miles I hit a pot hole that blew out both my tyres >:-( I had a single inner tube so someone gave me a spare but as usual the inner tubes they gave me where the ones with the valve with the core that when you unscrew lets all the air out. Of course my screw on pump unscrewes these cores every time I try to pump up the tyre which is why I hate them. Luckily one of the other riders has a push on pump so I was able to carry on. Unfortunately for me 5 miles from home I hit another pot hole an blew out my tyre again I had to fix my previous tyre with a patch to get me home. Suffice to say it was a long slow day today.

I wasn’t riding yesterday as I was fixing my uncle’s computer in the morning and at the cinema in the afternoon so todays ride was the only one this week, besides yesterdays weather was rubbish. Thankfully today was a far better day albeit a bit on the cold side but clear and sunny. There were 8 of us today so it was a good size group and a good pace, we clocked up 50 miles at 16 mph and I’m happy with that. Winter is a coming so the rides are getting a bit colder now and I’ll need to think about using my thermals again soon.
Ride 12/10/2019
Well it started out as a reasonable day weather wise but didn’t end up as it. It was dry and sunny when I left to start the ride and we were fine until about 5 miles out from home when the heavens opened up. I didn’t have any wet gear with me but I was in winter riding gear so I was afforded some protection but not enough to keep me dry. Thankfully 5 miles from I wasn’t too bothered but some of the other riders had opted to go in cycling shorts and summer wear so they got a bit wet

Well it’s back the Sat bun run after doing the Falkirk Gran Fondo last week and today it was dull but not too cold and little wind which made for a pleasant ride today. Tomorrows weather is horrendous so I won’t be cycling tomorrow

Ride 29/09/2019 Falkirk Grand Fondo
Another good day at the Falkirk Grand Fondo, 80 miles clocked up with over 5800 feet of climbing Poor Graeme (my cycling buddy for the day and in the same club as me) had a tough time with all the hills but completed the course at the same time as me so well done him So thats all the events over for this year, I think there are still a couple of club events but thats about all until next year.
Ride 22/09/2019
So this is the last ride before I do the Falkirk Gran Fondo next Sunday and although the weather wasn’t bad I was still the only one to turn up for this morning club run. I decided to do a smaller alternate route, it was starting to rain and there was still some wind around which would mean a head wind on the way home. I wasn’t going to do a cafe stop as it was only a 35 mile ride but I did keep my foot down so I managed to clock up an avg 17 mph for the ride.
Ride 21/09/2019
It’s a fine day for some cycling Sunny warm and little wind, so with that in mind we decided to take a different route than the normal bun run one. It would start with the bun run but divert to dollar for the cafe stop. After food we went over the Ochils and down to Dunning with a sharp right turn to go back over the Ochils via the Dragon This road gets pretty steep up to 20% near the top with a few more undulations as we head along the Path of Condie. I’ve done this route in the opposite direction but not the direction we went today, so I got a good workout this morning Once down to Milnathort it was a flat ride back to Cowdenbeth and home. 65 miles clocked up with just shy of 4000 feet of climbing all in a good days ridding
