Ride 01/07/2014

YES! After 2 years of doing this 15 mile sprint I’ve finally managed to break under the hour barrier! I’ve averaged around the 1:04 hour/min but it’s always been bloody impossible to get under the hour until today. Not so sure about the 236 bpm Max HR but the 175 Avg HR is about the norm. Doubt I’ll ever beat this time, getting old, happy days

So this plan went to pot I was planning to do my full Ochils loop (85 miles) today, as the so called weather report said it wasn’t going to rain until around 16:00 and I would be close to or at home by that time. Suffice to say the weather report got it so wrong that by 11:30, when I reached Bridge of Earn it poured down, and of course I had no water proofs with me, didn’t think i needed them, bastard weather. I spent the next 2 hours riding in the rain with no hope of getting home soon, I’m just too far away, getting soaking and cold I cut my ride short but I’m so far away that I can only cut it by 10 miles and I have to ride over the Ochils instead of around them which makes it harder. It did stop raining for a little while but started up again by the time I reached Kincardine. Suffice to say by the time I got home I’m wet, cold, knackered (cos I put my foot down to get home asap) very soar thighs and thoroughly pissed off! >:-(

Ride 21/06/2014 Falkirk to Loch Lomond

Ride 21/06/2014 Falkirk to Loch Lomond by PaulLund at Garmin Connect – Details.

Decided not to do my full Ochils Loop and instead ride to Loch Lomond, primarily because it’s a bit overcast and windy, and because I’ve never ridden to Loch Lomond. So set a course to take me to Balloch Castle and down onto the Loch shore. Had lunch at the shore line and then headed home, 80 miles clocked up and tired now.

Well rain was off and on most of the day, luckily it wasn’t heavy so I didn’t get too wet, and on a tough ride like this being wet I can do without. Falkirk to Perth today over the Ochil Hills, TWICE, and back home, very sore knees, legs and hips but thats my own fault for riding in an incorrect position, seat was too low, I’ve learned my lesson, seat higher now.

Ride 31/05/2014 Ochils half loop

Ride 31/05/2014 by PaulLund at Garmin Connect – Details.

For once it’s a nice sunny day so I decided to do my Ochils half loop and clocked up 70 miles. Knackered now, glad I decided not to do the full loop which is 85 miles would have caused a lot of pain doing that.

Decided to ride to Glasgow and see what I could see of the Radio 1 big weekend. Suffice to say I didn’t see much, it was well cordoned off, but I could still hear it

Ride 03/05/2014 Round the Forth

Ride 03/05/2014 Round the Forth by PaulLund at Garmin Connect – Details.

Well after not riding for a month, thanks to me breaking my front suspension, I’m back on the road and so out of shape This ride should be a doddle to do and in under 3 hours, usually around the 2:30 – 2:40 range and my legs hurt. I hate having to train back up again this is where having 2 bikes would be a real benefit, wish I could afford it.
