Wet, wet stupidly wet day which of course meant there was only 2 of us today. So we did a slightly shorter route skipping out Knockhill but still going up Saline. My new Castelli Perfetto ROS cloves, early xmas present for my self performed well, didn’t stop the rain getting in, nothing would, but at least I wasn’t soaked to the bone and freezing. Even though it was pouring it down it wasn’t very warm just a few degrees above freezing but thankfully no wind today so we were able to get around the course at a decent pace. The weather is even worse tomorrow so I may skip tomorrow.

Yesterdays weather was a washout it just rained and rained so I didn’t bother go cycling but today was a far better day. Light winds not rain and bright sunshine but of course meant it was bloody cold, I don’t think the temps got any higher than 2-3 degrees, even with 4 layers on I could still feel the cold when going downhill or stopping. Anyway 3 of us on the bun run today, nothing too fancy today with dodging ice patches and localised flooding I got the usual avg speed of 15 mph for the 51 miles clocked up, and I was glad for the hot shower when I got home.
Ride 29/11/2020
Its a very misty and cold day today, in fact we where in mist almost all the ride bar the last 10 miles or so when it finally cleared. Temp wise it was bloody cold sub zero temperatures for about half of the ride and then it only just got above freezing. 5 of us on the ride today thankfully no wind so it was a reasonable ride, bar the cold, 50 miles clocked up at avg speed of 15 mph.

On a bright sunny day with little wind but pretty damn cold, sufficient for me to have 4 layers on, we had 5 of us on the bun run. To mix it up a bit we went the wrecking crew route all the way down to Dollar and then the full route up Knockhill. Decent pace today certainly feel it in my legs now, with a avg speed of close to 16 mph I clock up 457 miles which is about 4 more than the usual route but good exercise to get me back in shape after not riding for nearly 2 weeks
Ride 22/11/2020
A slightly better weather day today with lighter winds than yesterday and a sunnier day. The only downside was it’s a bit colder today, so I was the usual Sunday bun run today with 4 of us attending. Slightly faster than yesterday and I’m feeling that now with being so hungry after the ride. We didn’t stop at a cafe but we did stop for a quick food break, just enough time to eat an energy gel which pails to the coffee and cake I would normally have Anyway 50 miles clocked up at 15 mph about the avg for a Sunday ride.

Well after a 2 week hiatus I’m back in the saddle, having no wheels for the bike was the reason for this. Unfortunately the bearing and rims were worn out on the wheels which facilitated a new set of wheels which took a little time to get the right parts for my bike. They just arrived yesterday so I was able to get back out today Back to the usual bun run route due to everyone being in the same tier. A gentle start in the saddle today, it was a windy one with some rain and sunshine but not too cold.

So last weekends cycling was a washout due to the adverse weather conditions, so I didn’t cycle at all last week. We pick it up this week and although it’s very fogy the weather is fine, little wind and not too cold. There were 6 of us today and we did the usual loop without stopping so it was an avg 15 mph today, a steady pace to get back into the swing of things
Ride 25/10/2020
So its the first ride with the club since getting back from holiday and today there was only 2 of us. Considering the weather was on, a little windy but dry I was surprised there wasn’t more people out today. So given there was only 2 of us we went the usual Sunday route and stopped at the café for coffee and cake We did the usual 50 miles and an avg speed of 15 mph, we’ll see how things turn out next week when the local lockdowns relax.
Ride 16/10/2020 Southend on Sea
So whilst down visiting my sister I decided to ride to Southend on Sea which I haven’t done in a good 35 years. It’s bit of a dull day and not particularly warm but it’s a flat route compared to the usual rides I do. 65 miles clocked up and a sedate speed of 15 mph
Ride 11/10/2020
Today was a good weather day sunshine and little wind with no rain. So again it’s an easterly ride and again its around Loch Leven with 8 of us in the group today, thanks to the fine weather. A slightly different route than yesterdays but also a little shorter by 3 miles but I was faster than yesterday with an avg speed of over 16 mph.
Ride 10/10/2020
Well with half of the central belt under lockdown we couldn’t ride west like we would normally do so it was a easterly route today. So basically we started up over Knockhill and then did a loop around Loch Leven with me splitting from the group at Kelty to finish over Hill of Beath and home.

Thankfully today was a better day, it was still raining when I left the house this morning but after about an hour it had stopped. Again there were 4 of us today so we could stop at the café for coffee and cake today In the last hour of the ride the sun had decided to come out so it turned into a pleasant day for cycling.
