So it’s the first club Randonee of the year with 7 of us on the run. We would be doing 100 Km ride around the Lomonds, Auchtermuchty, Glenfarg, Kinross with a final climb back over Knockhill to Dunfermline. Weather wise it was actually a decent day, little wind, no rain but still a bit cold, but nothing to write home about, and with all the climbs you kept reasonably warm. So after leaving Dunfermline we headed for Kelty and along to Leslie before we hit the climb over the Lomonds and down to Falkland. From here we headed to Dunshalt for our cafe stop, which was the first time I’ve been in. Our usual cafe stop has closed down which is a shame as it was a great cafe stop, with an awesome selection of cakes 😁 The Dunshalt cafe stop, although small, we just about all fitted in, turned out to be a good one as well, they had some great lentil soup and a fantastic chocolate tower cake 😋 which went down a treat. After that we headed for Auchtermuchty and along to our second climb of the day up Glentarkie, before heading down again to Aberargie. From here it was up our third climb, Glenfarg, before heading down to Milnathort and Kinross. We then headed for Cliesh and the final climb over Knockhill and back down to Dunfermline. So overall it was a good days ride with me clocking up 70 miles and a decent amount of elevation, which I have been missing out on over the last few weeks thanks to all the bad weather we’ve had, at an average speed of 15 mph.
