Ride 25/02/2024

Well this was a turn up for the books, there was 14 of us on the bun run today, and given this is a Sunday ride and it’s still bloody cold in the morning I was surprised at how many turned up. Weather wise it’s the same as yesterday, bright, sunny, no wind but still cold. Usual route this morning and I didn’t do any extra before the ride, looking for an easy day today We went as one large group to begin with but by the time we got to the other side of Knockhill we split into 2 groups to make life a bit easier for the cars. Usual coffee and cake for the cafe stop before the leg home. Ken, Chris, Jim and I went the coastal route along to Inverkeithing but rather than going via Dalgety bay we just went the same route up to Crossgates as we did last week. I didn’t go hard at all today, so by the time I got to Crossgates I was still feeling fine, at least until the bike broke 😫 Unluckily or luckily, depending on how you look at it my rear wheel rim decided to split and start rubbing against the frame, so my ride ended there and I had a short quarter mile walk home, so luckily that didn’t happen further from home otherwise I would have been screwed 😅 So 52 miles clocked up at an avg speed of 16 mph and now I need to purchase a new set of rims 😉
